When you order plans from one of our galleries you will receive 5 full construction sets (more sets can be purchased for 4% of the price per set, within 6 months of original invoice). A construction set consists of the list found below. You will also receive one set of the same construction documents that are a reduced size, 11x17, for your convenience. The half size 11x17 documents are not guaranteed to scale, but can be used for quick reference. The cost of your initial set of construction documents will vary with the size of home. To purchase from the Cottage Gallery is .40 square foot and from the Heritage Gallery is .50 square foot. The cost is per square foot of climate-controlled space. Example: A 2000 sq ft home x .50 = $1000.00. No refunds are available on the purchase of construction documents, however, for the expense of a study set for the design (subtracted from the credit), an exchange for other services can be rendered if the prints are returned with the invoice, in original condition, within 30 days from the original invoice date - a credit coupon will be issued that may be used as payment for Once Upon a Cottage services within the following 12 months from receipt.
What is included in a Construction Set of drawings?
No truss, plumbing, mechanical or detailed electrical designs are included. We understand that each region may require by code or covenant different materials or applications. Details of this nature need to be obtained from a local licensed subcontractor to ensure a correct fit for your particular regional climate conditions and/or local building codes. It will also to be necessary to consult a local building contractor about site plans and subdivision CC&R’s. A local certified/licensed design professional should also be contacted concerning structural construction details suitable to your regional conditions and/or local building codes. We are available for consultation should the professional in your area need further information. If you have a question about choices of materials we will be happy to consult with you on your choices on how it will affect the overall look of your project.
To order, fill in an
order inquiry form which will be e-mailed to David James AIBD, owner/designer of Once Upon A Cottage. You should recieve a return inquiry, usually by phone, within one or two business days. When you are ready to purchase, we will email you a copy of the design purchase agreement (review agreement now) and you will be able to pay us directly by check or money order. Construction sets should be received within twenty-eight working days of purchase. (inquire about expedited shipping)
